Mindy Kaling

I freaking love this woman.  Not only does she play one of the quirkiest characters on TV, but she writes too!  And she’s a funny writer!  This article in the New Yorker just makes me want to read her book even more.  My favorite quote is:

“The hundred-per-cent-perfect-looking female is perfect in every way except that she constantly bonks her head on things. She trips and falls and spills soup on her affable date (Josh Lucas. Is that his name? I know it’s two first names. Josh George? Brad Mike? Fred Tom? Yes, it’s Fred Tom). The Klutz clangs into stop signs while riding her bike and knocks over giant displays of fine china in department stores. Despite being five feet nine and weighing a hundred and ten pounds, she is basically like a drunk buffalo who has never been a part of human society. But Fred Tom loves her anyway.”

A drunk buffalo, how do you not love that imagery?

Desk Supplies

Wood Whale - Click to enlarge
I am now in love with these whales!  I think I need two, one for work, one for home.  Let's just disregard the fact the I don't have a desk at home.  Aside from how adorable they are I love that in the description it says "The Whales are crafted with care, hand-oiled, signed, numbered and packed carefully for migration."  Migration, huh?

Let's Get Started!

I am officially doing this!  I'm going to get everything finalized and ready to go and post a few things on Etsy tomorrow.  This is a big step, considering I've been see-sawing on it for months now, but I think I'm ready to go.  The big push is so I can have everything up and running before the Sewing Summit in October.  I'll make sure to post what's going in the shop on here before loading them to Etsy.  This is big.  And scary.  Whoo!
